Swedish company Blykalla, formerly called Leadcold, has announced the closure of its latest funding round to support its lead-cooled SMRs, raising a total of SEK80m ($7.3m). The round was led by Norrsken Launcher together with Nucleation Capital, with participation from Earth Venture Capital, Farvatn, and several private investors.

Kepco Nuclear Fuel (KNF) and GS Engineering & Construction, together with Denmark's Seaborg Technologies, are to investigate the feasibility of developing a low-enriched uranium (LEU) fuel salt production facility in South Korea. Seaborg is developing compact molten salt reactor (CMSR) technology.

The US Department of Energy (DOE) has awarded Terrestrial Energy USA a regulatory assistance grant to support the company’s US Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) licensing programme for its Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) plant. This comes after the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) in April concluded that there were no fundamental barriers to licensing the IMSR plant for Canadian commercial use. The decision followed a systematic and multi-year review against Canadian regulatory requirements. It was the first regulatory review of a nuclear plant using molten salt reactor technology and the first advanced, high-temperature fission technology to complete a review of this type.

Four Danish companies – Topsoe, Alfa Laval, Copenhagen Atomics, and Aalborg – are supporting a project to use small modular reactors (SMRs) to produce energy for ammonia production by Indonesia companies Pupuk Kaltim along with Pertamina New & Renewable Energy. The agreement was signed in Copenhagen at Topsoe HQ in Lyngby, Denmark, and all participating companies were present, as well as officials from the Indonesian embassy.
