The All Russian Scientific & Research Institute for Nuclear Power Plant Operation (JSC VNIIAES - part of nuclear utility Rosenergoatom) is shipping a full-scale simulator (PMT) to the Akkuyu NPP in Türkiye after completing comprehensive tests. The PMT is designed for training, licensing and maintaining the qualifications of the personnel operating the NPP control panel. It comprises exact copies of the unit and backup control panels of Akkuyu unit 1 integrated into a single software and hardware complex with a full-scale mathematical model of the unit.

Russia’s Troitsk Institute of Innovative and Thermonuclear Research (Triniti) in Moscow plans to build a new thermonuclear reactor by 2030, Deputy Director General Kirill Ilyin told Strana Rosatom on 9 February.

World Nuclear Association Director General Agneta Rising said today that the changes needed to transition to a more sustainable future will not happen without the participation of a diverse workforce, and the greater inclusion of women. Speaking to participants in a side event to the International Atomic Energy Agency's 64th General Conference, Rising said the energy sector remains one of the most gender-imbalanced, and that the nuclear sector was no exception.
