Canada’s 2022 Fall Economic Statement, released on 3 November by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Chrystia Freeland, focused on "building an economy that works for everyone… even as we face global headwinds, the investments we are making today will make Canada more sustainable and more prosperous for generations to come". While the news release announcing the Statement did not mention nuclear energy, the 96-page document does refer to nuclear briefly in the section on establishment of an investment tax credit for investments in clean technologies.

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and Hydro One have launched a new company, Ivy Charging Network, which plans to install a new network of fast-chargers for electric vehicles (EV) in Ontario by the end of 2021. The Canadian government is investing CAD8 million (USD6 million) in the project which it says will help the transition to a clean energy future.
