Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP) has signed a 10-year contract with the Egyptian Atomic Energy Authority for the supply of low-enriched nuclear fuel components, such as uranium and aluminium items, for the ETRR-2 research reactor. NCCP is a subsidiary of Russian nuclear fuel manufacturer TVEL.

US Holtec International has outlined a new "proto-prompt" decommissioning strategy, which could transform a nuclear power plant site to greenfield status within about five-and-a-half years of the plant being shut down.

Transnuclear has launched a new model of spent fuel pool rack called NUSTOR. The racks can also be used for storage of new fuel assemblies in dry new fuel storage vault areas. The US EPR will feature the NUSTOR as standard.
