Danish climate tech fund Climentum Capital and Swedish social developer Granitor Growth Management are investing EUR2 million (USD2.2 million) into Swedish small modular reactor (SMR) project development company Kärnfull Next AB.

The Danish nuclear reactor company Seaborg Technologies is currently completing important experiments in collaboration with both experts from Neutron and Muon Source (ISIS) at Oxford (UK) and European Spallation Source (ESS) research centre in Lund in Sweden. The goal is to understand how neutrons in modern reactors behave. The new knowledge should allow Seaborg to optimise their reactor design. The company is aiming for 2025 for having its first reactor online. Seaborg is developing compact thorium-based Molten Salt Reactors (MSRs).

A group of more than 100 scientists and environmentalists have written to the European Commission calling for a "timely and just assessment" of nuclear energy in the EU Taxonomy. The letter was sent by Satu Helynen, acting president of the Sustainable Nuclear Energy Technology Platform (SNETP), and addressed to EU Energy Commissioner Kadri Simson and to two European Commission vice-presidents, Valdis Dombrovskis and Frans Timmermans.
