The third tier of the internal containment (VZO) has been installed at unit 2 of the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Turkey. The VZO provides protection for the reactor compartment and is a support for pipeline penetrations and a polar crane, which is used to service the reactor during its operation.

Rosatom has installed the fifth tier of the internal containment (VZO) at unit 1 of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction in Turkey, Akkuyu Nuclear said on 17 January. Steam generators have also been delivered for Akkuyu 2.

The second tier of the internal containment shell (ICS) has been installed at unit 2 of the Akkuyu NPP under construction in Turkey, Rosatom reported on 9 September. The ICS is one of the main safety elements providing protection for the reactor compartment. It is also a support for pipeline penetrations and a polar crane, with the help of which work is carried out to maintain the nuclear reactor one it is operating.

The dome of the inner containment shell of unit 1 of the Rooppur nuclear power plant in Bangladesh is now being installed, Rosatom announced yesterday. The metal structure has a diameter of 44 metres and a weight of 185 tonnes. The operation is being carried out by Trust RosSEM, using a Liebherr heavy crawler crane that has a lifting capacity of 1350 tonnes. The day before lifting, a special mounting traverse of 15 steel cables was installed.

Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom, which is constructing four VVER-1200 reactors at the site in Mersin province, described the milestone as "one of the key stages in the main equipment assembly".

Russia’s ZiO-Podolsk (part of Atomenergomash, the mechanical engineering division of Rosatom) has manufactured and shipped equipment for unit 2 of the Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh, Atomenergomash said on 3 March. The shipment of large-sized items included the fourth separator-superheater SPP-1200 and the second high-pressure heater PVD-K-5 for the turbine hall. The SPP-1200 is designed for drying and superheating of wet steam after the high-pressure cylinder of the turbine. It is shipped in three parts: a separator weighing 41 tons, a first stage superheater (86 tons), and a second stage superheater (105 tons).
