Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, during a five-day visit to Russia, signed agreements with Russia for additional units of the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The agreement was signed following a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Ministry of Industry & Trade Denis Manturov.

Despite the difficult economic situation and sanctions, Rosatom's exports will grow by about 15% by the end of the year compared with 2021, Rosatom Director General Alexei Likhachev said in an extensive interview with Izvestia. Countries where new projects are already underway or are beginning include China, Turkey, Egypt, Hungary, India, Bangladesh, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

The development of a national nuclear industry facilitates a country's economic growth while at the same time keeping in harmony with low-carbon and sustainable development, Yaroslav Mozdakov, director for communications and international affairs at Rusatom Energy International (REIN), said last week during a webinar hosted by the Expert Group on Resource Management of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. REIN is a subsidiary of Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom.

Russia’s Atommash plant in Volgodonsk (a branch of AEM-Technologies, part Atomenergomash, the machine-building division of Rosatom), has shipped four steam generators for unit 1 of Turkey’s Akkuyu NPP.

Atommash, part of the Volgodonsk branch of Russia's AEM Technology, is ready to ship four steam generators to unit 1 of the Akkuyu nuclear power plant under construction in Turkey. The equipment, each weighing 355 tonnes, will be transported 3000 km by ship to the construction site in Mersin province, in the south of the country.

Russia’s Atomstroyexport, part of state nuclear corporation Rosatom, has opened a credit line RUB10.5 billion ($160m) in Roseximbank JSC for the construction of the Kudankulam nuclear plant in India, according to Rosatom’s procurement website on 23 October.
