The European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG) has said that "Energoatom is the only legitimate licensee of the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant (ZNPP) and that the plant has to be operated as per licence conditions and in accordance with Ukrainian and international legal and regulatory requirements, under the supervision of the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of Ukraine (SNRIU)."

Uzbekistan's preparations to build its first nuclear power plant are gathering pace with a sense of making up for lost time. Russian state nuclear corporation Rosatom in 2016 will contribute RUB24.6m ($300,000) from its state budget allocation to the International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA's) International Project on Innovative Nuclear Reactors and Fuel Cycles (INPRO project), according to a Russian government directive published on the official legal information portal. The directive says Rosatom and the Russian Foreign Ministry will monitor the use of the Russian contribution.
