South Africa’s Koya Capital has signed a partnership agreement with Stratek Global to assist in securing finance for construction of a high temperature modular reactor. The ZAR9bn ($480m) HTMR-100 is based on South Africa’s Pebble Bed Modular Reactor (PBMR).

Energy Resources of Australia (ERA) has appointed majority owner Rio Tinto to manage the rehabilitation of the former Ranger uranium mine in Australia's Northern Territory. Mining and processing operations at Ranger ceased in January 2021.

US-based Global Laser Enrichment (GLE), jointly owned by Australia’s Silex Systems (51%) and Canada’s Cameco (49%), has decided against responding to a US Department of Energy (DOE) request for the acquisition of high-assay low-enriched uranium enrichment (HALEU), which is not currently commercially available from US-based suppliers.

Restarting uranium mining in Western Australia could create up to 9000 jobs and produce uranium worth more than AUD1 billion a year, a 12-month inquiry by the state's Chamber of Commerce and Industry has found. It recommends that the state overturn its ban on uranium mining to unlock significant economic benefits.

Energy Resources of Australia Limited says it has lodged an application to renew the lease in Australia's Northern Territory but says it has no plans to develop the high-grade uranium deposit. The deposit's Mirarr Traditional Owners have said they oppose both the renewal and development of the lease, which is surrounded by the World Heritage-listed Kakadu National Park.

Argentina’s RA-10 multi-purpose research reactor at Ezeiza Atomic Centre (CAE - El Centro Atómico Ezeiza) in Buenos Aires province, is now about 80% completed, according to project manager Herman Blaumann. "The civil work is already finished and in terms of supplies and installations the progress is 75%. This week the reactor's reflector tank will arrive ... the installation of which is another key step in the work,” he told Argentina's Foreign Minister Diana Mondino during a tour of the facility.

Deep Yellow Ltd is to revise its definitive feasibility study for the Mulga Rock project in Western Australia after a 26% increase in uranium resources and a "substantial uplift" in critical mineral value at Mulga Rock East. The company is planning production in 2028.
