UK-based enrichment company Urenco and Ukrainian nuclear utility Energoatom signed a new long-term fuel supply contract during the World Nuclear Exhibition in Paris. According to the document, Urenco will supply Energoatom with enriched uranium until 2035 with an option to renew the contract until 2043.

The UK government has announced it will provide a GBP192 million (USD243 million) loan guarantee to enable UK-headquartered Urenco to supply Energoatom, Ukraine's national nuclear company, with uranium enrichment services. The UK government also agreed a Memorandum of Understanding committing support to Ukraine's energy sector and green energy future.

Up to 20 Holtec SMR-160 plants will be built in Ukraine under a cooperation agreement signed between Holtec International and Ukrainian national nuclear operator Energoatom. The agreement calls for the first plant to begin supplying power by March 2029.
