Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) has been awarded a contract to supply a further 12 outer vertical targets for the divertor to be used in the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER). The Japanese company has already delivered six of the components.

The manufacture of poloidal field coil No 3 (PF3) - the final poloidal field coil produced for the ITER fusion machine - has been completed in the Poloidal Field Coils Winding Facility at the construction site in Cadarache, France.

In early April, the first shipment of equipment in 2024 for the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), which is being built in France, will take place from Russia’s DV Efremov Institute of Electrophysical Apparatus (NIIEFA, part of Rosatom). The equipment was developed and manufactured at NIIEFA in St Petersburg by order of Rosatom, within the framework of the International ITER project.

Chinese-French TAC-1 (CNPE) consortium has won a contract for the sub-assembly of modules for the vacuum vessel of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER), under construction at Cadarache in southern France. The consortium includes China Nuclear Power Engineering (a subsidiary of China National Nuclear Corporation - CNNC); China Nuclear Industry 23 Construction Company Ltd; Southwestern Institute of Physics; Institute of Plasma Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences ASIPP; and France’s Framatome.

The ITER Organisation is preparing a new timeline for construction of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) being built at Cadarache in France. As part of work underway to update the ITER Project Baseline, a group of experts met in February to evaluate the new blueprint for achieving ITER's research goals.
