Anfield Energy Inc has submitted its production reactivation plan for the Shootaring Canyon uranium mill to the State of Utah's Department of Environmental Quality. The Vancouver-based company said it is targeting the mill restart for 2026 - it has been on standby since 1982.

The company has released the full results of a feasibility study on in-situ leach (ISL) mining of the high-grade Phoenix uranium deposit and a cost update to its pre-feasibility study for conventional underground mining of the Gryphon uranium deposit. The deposits are part of the Wheeler River project in the Athabasca Basin of northern Saskatchewan, Canada.

Western Uranium & Vanadium has already acquired a site in Utah and begun work on designing and permitting the facility to process uranium, vanadium and cobalt. The new plant will process feed from Western's restarted Sunday Mine Complex.

US uranium producer Energy Fuels, and Strata Energy - a subsidiary of Australia-based Peninsula Energy - have been awarded contracts to sell natural uranium concentrates (U3O8) to the US government for the establishment of a strategic uranium reserve. Energy Fuels is contracted for $18.5 million U3O8 and Strata for $57 million.
