Rusatom Automated Control Systems (RASU - part of Rosatom) is starting the active phase of the design of an automated process control system (ASU TP avtomatizirovannoi sistemi upravleniya tekhnologicheskim protsessom) for a low-power nuclear power plant (ASMM – atomnoi stantsii maloi moshnosti) with a RITM-200N pressurised water reactor. It is planned to be built in the village of Ust-Kuyga in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

Russia’s St Petersburg Polytechnic University (SPbPU) on 16 February signed a roadmap for the development of cooperation between Rosatom’s fuel company TVEL and the Competence Centre of the National Technological Initiative (NTI) SPbPU New Production Technologies. The document was signed by the President of TVEL Natalya Nikipelova and SPbPU Rector Andrey Rudskoy.

An operator training simulator developed by Russia’s National Research Nuclear University (NRU-MEPhI) has been launched at the Rostov NPP and approved by nuclear utility Rosenergoatom. The university, formerly known as the Moscow Engineering Physics Institute (MEPhI), was renamed in 2009 and reformed to incorporate a number of other educational establishments. It is partly funded by state nuclear corporation Rosatom but remains the responsibility of the Federal Education Agency.
