Sergei Kiriyenko, the former head of Russia’s state nuclear corporation Rosatom, was reaffirmed as chairman of the company’s Supervisory Board during a reshuffle of its members announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin in a 23 January decree published on his website. 

Kiriyenko stepped down as Director of Rosatom in October 2016 after more than 10 years in the post, when he was appointed first deputy chief of Putin’s administration. The new board also includes minister of energy Alexander Novak, vice-president Yuri Trutnev, assistant to the president Yuri Ushakov and Kiriyenko’s successor at Rosatom, Alexei Likhachev.

Boris Gryzlov, party chairman of the Supreme Council of United Russia, and Rosatom Deputy Director General Yuri Yakovlev lose their positions on the board.
