Iran's Bushehr nuclear power plant will not start up this year, said Russian energy minister Sergei Shmatko, according to Russian newswire Itar-Tass.

Russia had been heavily involved in the controversial project.

Shmatko said that the delay was caused by technical problems from using 30-year-old Siemens equipment.
