AEM-Technologies (part of Rosatom’s mechanical engineering division Atomenergomash) has set a record for equipment manufacture for the entire history of Soviet and Russian nuclear engineering. In 2020 AEM-Technologies manufactured three reactor vessels with internals and 18 steam generators. Over the past year, the revenue of AEM-Technologies, the largest Russian manufacturer of equipment for the nuclear power industry, grew by 22% to RUB24.9 billion ($323m). One of the main growth factors is the increase in the company's order portfolio, which by the end of 2020 amounted to RUB193 billion (+ 23%).

AEM-Technologies is the first company to produce three reactor vessels with VVER-type internals and 18 steam generators in one year. The reactors are intended for NPPs under construction in Russia, Turkey and Bangladesh. One of them is a new type VVER-TOI reactor for Kursk-II. “Against the background of a difficult market situation in 2020, we were able to send large-sized equipment to the Rooppur NPP in Bangladesh and the Turkish Akkuyu NPP. A further achievement is the manufacture of a new type VVER-TOI reactor which is being shipped to Kursk from Volgodonsk,” said, AEM-Technologies Director General Igor Kotov.

The investment programme for 2020 totalled RUB3.1 billion, which is 72% higher than for 2019. The funds were used to modernise production and increase existing capacities. In 2020, the average number of employees in the company increased by 11%, to 4,585 people. Labour productivity increased by 10.7%.
