SSM said the report, which is based on inspections and audits carried out at the three-unit nuclear station last year, found no safety deviations compared to a similar assessment in 2019.
According to SSM, Ringhals needs to address some deviations from the expected design of components and systems which were identified during last year’s inspections.
SSM said operation at Ringhals is satisfactory in terms of management, organisation, expertise, and staffing, but priority needs to be given to the development of security management and communication.
The regulator said a lot of work is under way in preparation for the permanent shutdown of Ringhals-1 scheduled for this year.
Sweden has seven commercial reactors in operation at three nuclear stations: three at Ringhals, three at Forsmark and one at Oskarshamn.
